LYRA - SKY Airline Design System

I had the privilege of leading the team that built the design system for SKY airline, Design System that was conceived and built from 4 design principles, which were raised in various working sessions with stakeholders of SKY, where different areas of the company were represented, from business to technology, in order to, first, identify whether it was acting in accordance with values that currently has the organization and secondly, prioritized which of these values would be key and how they would materialize when building the system.

The problem to be solved was to align the different cells working on various products of the airline to use a single language, which works in accordance with the design principles defined in the research stage, in addition, through the implementation of a design system will be able to design interfaces with greater consistency throughout the SKY Airline ecosystem and reduce the risks of time, resources and quality of the transfer of interfaces from design to implementation.

The result was a design system composed of 91 color tokens, typography, grids and elevations, which allow more than 40,000 combinations and about 1400 components that will allow SKY to grow and consolidate its interfaces throughout its product lines and positively impact the user experience.
This also meant a new challenge: the adoption and maintenance, governance and iteration of the design system, for which asynchronous coordination tools were generated within Figma, in order to maintain aligned criteria and give visibility to the needs of the different teams.
Today the design system is in the process of implementation and maturity of its use by the company.
